COVID-19 Tenant Update – October 10, 2020

The health and safety of our valued tenants is very important to us as we navigate through these unprecedented time. As COVID-19 updates are received through governmental and health officials, information will be shared for your reference.

In order to help contain the spread of COVID-19, measures have been put in place by governmental and health authorities that are gradually changing. As restrictions change, further updates will be provided to ensure public health directives are followed.

The following measures apply:

• Gathering limits without social distancing:
– Close social group of up to 10 people, strongly recommending a consistent group is maintained;

– Performing arts and sports can gather in groups up to 50 people for practices, competitions, games, rehearsals and artistic performances, excluding singing and playing brass or wind instruments;

– Businesses or organizations with small physical space up to 10 customers or clients maximum;

• Gathering limits with social distancing:
– Social events, spectators of sports and performing arts, organized physical activities, faith gatherings, weddings, funerals, arts and culture events, festivals and special events provided by recognized businesses or organizations at 50% of a venue’s capacity up to 200 people maximum indoors;

– Social events, spectators of sports and performing arts, organized physical activities, faith gatherings, weddings, funerals, arts and culture events, festivals and special events provided by recognized businesses or organizations to a maximum of 250 people outdoors;

– Social events, spectators of sports and performing arts, faith gatherings, weddings, funerals, and arts and culture events not run by a recognized business or organization to a maximum of 50 people indoors/outdoors (ie: family event at a residence);

– Sports (spectators and participants) and unorganized physical activity not run by a recognized business or organization to a maximum of 50 people indoors/outdoors;

• Businesses, organizations and health professions previously required to close may reopen provided the Health Protection Act Order is followed. These include:
– Restaurants and licensed establishments (bars, wineries, distillery tasting rooms and craft taprooms) providing physical distancing is maintained, groups don’t exceed 10 people, closing by 1:00 am;

– Fitness establishments (gyms, yoga studios and climbing facilities);

– Self-regulated health professions;

– Unregulated health professions;

– Veterinarians;

– Privately operated campgrounds;

– Casinos;

– Personal services (hair salons, barber shops, spas, nail salons and body art establishments)

• Travel within Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador is permitted without the need to self-isolate for Atlantic Canada residents;

• Traveling to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador from outside Atlantic Canada will require a 14 day self-isolation;

• Travel outside of Atlantic Canada for non-essential purposes should be avoided;

•The following measures continue to remain in place:
– Practice physical distancing and cough etiquette;

– Wear a mask or face covering in all indoor public places or where physical distancing isn’t possible;

– Wash or sanitize hands frequently and thoroughly;

– Follow public health guidance on travel and self-isolation;

– If feeling unwell, stay home; and

– Vulnerable people, such as seniors, are encouraged to exercise additional caution.

We all can do our part in responsibly maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. As we work together during this unique time, we will continue to support our tenants as their business needs may change, to accommodate any necessary modifications based on the above.
